Off The Record
 | Off The Record, released in November 2011, is a charity anthology put together by Guilty Conscience Publishing (a.k.a. Liverpool writer Luca Veste) and featuring 38 stories in the noir/crime/urban grit vein by established and up-and-coming writers from both sides of the Atlantic. Each story shares its title with that of a classic song, adding a nice twist to the traditional anthology format. I was privileged to be asked to submit a story for inclusion in the anthology and rather cheekily chose Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" as 'my' song, working on the principal that since I had no idea what I was going to write, I ought to pick a song title with a good degree of flexibility! I'm relieved to say that when the story DID finally take shape, I was absolutely delighted with it. It sits as 'track' 20 in the finished line-up of the book. Proceeds from the sale of the book are going to two literacy charities - one in the UK (The National Literacy Trust), and one in the USA (The Children's Literacy Initiative).
